Montclair Kitchen

This kitchen space was part of an "as is" purchase of a completely neglected home. It required a gut-renovation back to the studs and floor boards. Textured Home undertook both the space re-design and new construction build. A half-bath was added into the newly created hallway entrance on the 1st floor. The clients sought a cool, but classic shaker feeling for their kitchen and pantry storage spaces. Textured Home fabricated and finished custom-built wood cabinets to their exact color specifications using a glazed finish . And along with new amenities like a classic farm sink, restoration hardware and door pulls, a floor to ceiling pull-out pantry compliments top-of-the-line fixtures including: a six-burner Viking Stove, Sub-Zero Fridge and Bosch dishwasher. For the new flooring, 6" wide-planks were re-milled from 100-year-old white oak beams, enhancing the restoration feel. Missing wood-trim details like original window headers and baseboard moldings were also matched to those that survived in the common rooms. Finishing extras included both in-ceiling stereo speakers and CAT 6 wiring for future smart-house upgrades.
